Tubular Roller Blind Motors: Automate the Blinds You Already Have
Tubular motors are the cleanest way to motorise roller blinds. The motor sits inside the blind's existing tube, completely hidden from view, with no visible wires or external components. The result looks exactly like a standard roller blind from the outside, but opens and closes on command from your phone, by voice, or on a schedule you set once and forget. MOES tubular motors are compatible with most standard roller blind tubes and install without replacing the blind itself.
Why Tubular Motors Are Different from Chain Motors
Chain roller blind motors attach externally to the chain mechanism of an existing blind. Tubular motors replace the internal spring or manual mechanism inside the blind tube itself. Tubular motors are the better choice when you want a completely clean installation with no visible external hardware, or when your blinds do not have a chain mechanism to attach to. They are also the standard choice for new roller blind installations where the motor is built in from the start.
If your blinds currently use a chain pull, see our chain roller blind motors instead. If your blinds use a spring-loaded pull cord or have no chain at all, a tubular motor is likely the right fit.
What to Check Before You Buy
Tubular motors are sized by the internal diameter of the blind tube, typically 25mm, 35mm, or 45mm. Measure the internal diameter of your blind tube before purchasing to confirm compatibility. Also check the motor's torque rating against the weight of your blind fabric. Heavier or wider blinds require a higher torque motor. All relevant specifications are listed on each product page.
For WiFi models, the motor connects directly to your home router with no hub required. For Zigbee models, a MOES Zigbee gateway is needed. Both options are controlled through the Tuya Smart Life app and work with Alexa and Google Home.
